Sweet: OxyChem To Create Up To 300 Indirect & 85 Direct Jobs In Tenn.
Occidental Chemical Corp., a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum, said Thursday that it plans to build a chemical plant next to DuPont’s Johnsonville, Tenn., titanium dioxide plant in Humphreys County.
The project is expected to lead to at least 85 full-time jobs when the facility opens. Humphreys County has had double-digit unemployment for more than a year, with its jobless rate at 10.1 percent in May.
The OxyChem project could lead to an additional 250 to 300 construction jobs over a period of 12 to 18 months as the plant gets built. No start date has been announced…Read More.
