iPhone App For Documenting Your Wage Claim. Thanks, DOL.

Grab it on iTunes here.

Free  App developed by the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division which allows employees to track their work, break and overtime hours. It’s currently compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch, and updates are being planned for other Smartphone platforms.  Released in May, this new technology is significant according to the DOL “because, instead of relying on their employers’ records, workers can now keep their own records.

Employers are required by the FLSA to maintain records of their employees’ hours.  Generating DOL job security for field investigations of the scandalous companies juicing employees by manipulating documentation?   I guess, but the vast majority of companies use third part systems, and really, are there not bigger issues as hand?
